Step 1: Prepare your needlework
Extra Finishing Rows
Extra rows are not necessary for every needlepoint canvas. Whether they are helpful depends on the shape of the design and how the piece will be finished.
You usually do not need extra rows for:
Simple shapes such as rounds, ovals, squares, and rectangles, or shaped designs with smooth edges and enough stitched area to turn cleanly.
Extra rows are especially helpful for:
Narrow or skinny areas, deep notches or tight inside corners, unstitched canvas between painted areas, and important design details or beads very close to the finished edge.
3D pieces:
Please do not automatically add extra rows to a 3D canvas. Extra stitching can change the intended dimensions and affect how the pieces fit together. If you're unsure, contact me before adding them.
Why They’re Helpful
When extra rows are needed, they act as working stitches. They give me a little additional stitched canvas to turn to the back during construction, helping protect the intended design and create a clean finished edge.
The extra rows are generally not intended to show on the finished piece.

Every canvas is a little different. If you're unsure whether your piece needs extra rows, send me a photo before you stitch them. I can help you determine where additional stitching would be useful.
Step 2: Submit Your Finishing Request Form
Please complete one Finishing Request Form for each individual piece you would like professionally finished.
You’ll be able to upload photos, choose the type of finish you’re interested in, and share your preferences for fabrics, colors, trim, embellishments, and other design details.
Depending on the type of finish selected, the form may also ask for additional information such as acrylic specifications, customer-provided materials, or inspiration photos.
Step 3: Wait for Me to Contact You Before Mailing Your Piece
After reviewing your Finishing Request Form and photos, I’ll contact you by email to discuss your project, confirm any necessary details, and provide an estimate or quote.
Prices shown on the Pricing page are base prices for standard finishes. Specialty materials, custom design elements, unusual construction, and other upgrades may affect the final price.
Please do not mail your needlework yet. Wait until your project has been reviewed and accepted and you have received shipping instructions from me.
Step 4: Approve Your Quote and Pay Your Invoice
Once your project has been reviewed, I’ll confirm the final quote with you before finishing begins.
Payment in full is required after your final quote is approved and before your project is mailed to Willow & Wren. If any changes or additional service are requested or approved after your project is received, those changes will be added to your final return-shopping invoice.
Specialty materials purchased specifically for your project will be discussed with you in advance and included in your approved quote.
Step 5: Send Your Items to Willow & Wren
Once your project has been accepted and you’ve received shipping instructions, carefully package your needlework and any approved customer-provided materials and send them to Willow & Wren.
Tracking and appropriate insurance are strongly recommended.
If you have several accepted projects, you may ship them together, but each individual needlework piece should have its own completed Finishing Request Form.
Step 6: I’ll Confirm Your Piece Has Arrived
Once your package arrives, I’ll send you a confirmation email to let you know it has been safely received.
I’ll also review your needlework and any materials you’ve provided. If I have questions or notice anything that needs to be discussed before finishing begins, I’ll contact you before proceeding.
Step 7: I’ll Finish Your Piece & Send It Home
My current turnaround time is approximately2–4 weeks from the date I receive your needlework.
More involved custom projects may require additional time depending on items submitted and availability of resources.
I’ll carefully finish your piece according to the design and details we’ve agreed upon.
When your project is complete, I’ll carefully package it and calculate return shipping and appropriate insurance. Any remaining project balance and return-shipping charges must be paid before your finished piece is shipped home to you.
If several of your pieces are completed at the same time, I’ll combine them into one return shipment whenever practical and safe to do so.
